Miss me? I know, it’s been 8 days!! I had really told myself that I wouldn’t let it go longer than a week but been feeling like garbage, a massive snow storm and today it’s -37 wind chill, I haven’t been feeling overly motivated…other than to plug away on the kids’ Valentine’s since that has a deadline! Honestly, I’m totally a work under pressure kind of girls (as was the case when yesterday I dug out the iron to iron on Olivia’s badges for Sparks last night, really didn’t feel like it but didn’t want to be “that Mom” that didn’t have it done)….
This month’s Paper Pumpkin is adorable and cute, and a new stamp set that doesn’t disappoint. Click here to learn more about Paper Pumpkin!
So what was I to do when Stampin Up announced there would not be a refill this year so I would have to come up with other ideas. I checked out Rachel Tessman (Stamp Your Art Out), or unofficial Stampin Up Paper Pumpkin guru of alternative ideas and she shared to just add a little topper to our 2×8 cellephane bags, great idea, right? Only thing was that I had left it too late to order them in time but I do have some of the old ones that are bigger, but whatever, it’ll do, right? I also have some old kids’ bookmarks from my teacher days that I wanted to give Olivia to put in her Valentine’s so the bigger bags are a better fit anyway. So the Sparks are getting 17 of the Paper Pumpkin bags and her class and the twins will be getting little bags with a Nestle treat and a Happy Valentine’s heart (using this month’s stamp set) on our Sweetheart punch!!!
I’m using an old designer series paper from last year but I think this year’s Falling in Love would be a beautiful pick! I’m thinking about adding some silver metallic thread to the hearts before I stick them onto the bags (like we did with the gold on the Paper Pumpkin bags), I’m in love with metallic thread these days!
Hope you all have a very Happy Valentine’s Day!
