Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!

Before I sign off for the holidays, I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you that inspire and share in my love of crafting!! A very special thank you to my Stampin Up customers, friends and crafting comrades that attend my classes year after year!  I have made some great friends over the years and look forward to a 2018 of creative fun!

One last creation that I couldn’t resist doing from the time I fell in love with the adorable little mini pizza boxes, and then recently saw fellow demonstrators running them through the Big Shot to emboss them on the shiny side, aren’t they gorgeous?  Then I had to have the embellishments that I saw so many use in their beautiful holiday creations!  Honestly, I was a bit intimidated by the green sprigs so I didn’t order them until recently but had to give them a go!  They really do have all the wow factor that I had anticipated!! And the mini ornaments are gorgeous too!

No watermark because I was inspired by so many and they do look like all the rest 🙂

Outlander Christmas Ornament #yourstampinscrapbooker

This post is dedicated to all my Sassenach Sisters all over the world!

Well, it had to be done… yes, I had to make an Outlander ornament for my tree!! I am a part of an Outlander craft club online and they had an ornament exchange for the holidays, however, I did not partake as I felt I just had too much on my plate and couldn’t commit.  That being said, I wish I had since it would have spurred me to get it done… Here is the newest addition to our tree!  I used the Outlander stamp set from Kindred StampsClick here for my previous post about my excitement in having discovered these stamps!! Thank you to all my Sassenach Sisters all over the world for sharing the Outlander love online so I could discover these stamps and all the Outlander creative ideas that are out there! I just realized that I discovered these stamps shortly before season 3 started and here I am sharing them again as season 3 has finished…. #droughtlander will be bearable for me having found these 2 cuties to create with!! Thank you Kindred Stamps!

I still have plans for some Outlander creations using some clear Christmas balls that I have to dig out tomorrow and the girls and I can play!  Life has been so super crazy, I just haven’t been able to make the time to be creative… it seems there is just always something else and it doesn’t help that I’ve been super addicted to #Vikings, in addition to my weekly #Outlander Sunday nights, which, sadly have come to an end…I haven’t even had time to color in my new #Outlander colouring book my family got me for my birthday! (You know it’s bad when…) 😉

I’m loving the little Sassenach on the sides! Super cute, right?

This is only the beginning of the fun that can be had with this set and I plan to make many more to share with special Outlander fan friends all over the world… the challenge will be finding more of these ceramic ornaments to stamp on… I better to get Michael’s and see what’s left!!

Your Stampin Scrapbooker November Madness!

Wow! 9 days since my last post (okay, except that brief post this am about the deals! that spurred me to get on the ball!!), already?  Things have been a bit crazy around my house!  Between doing a Christmas card class for some of the teachers at Olivia’s school, which was so fun to see people wowed by the Big Shot for the first time, and then just yesterday helping out with the children’s Christmas card making at her school, this week has been pretty focused on those 2 events.

--making-memories-quotes-family-memories-quotes

Yesterday’s Christmas card making at Good Shepard has been a tradition at the school for years so it’s a fairly well-oiled machine.  It was pretty much what I expected (having been there last year as a parent) but was still has its moments of stressfulness.  That being said, seeing faces smile and be wowed by stamping and then punching out our little gingerbread man made helping 200 kids make cards worth it!! It was quite the experience!! I definitely learned a few lessons on how to improve next year.  I did take all advice into account and think it was good, but I will definitely make a few changes to make life easier on myself in the future! What I think will be boring, will still be fun for the kids, keep that in mind!! The fun is not for them!  So next year I will have everything punched/cut and in bins ready to go.  So all I have to do is pass them the pile and then they can assemble/stamp.  At one point there were like 20 people around the table all wanting attention and now…. let’s just say, I was sweating! LOL But, overall, it was super fun and I’d definitely do it again!! And next year, all 3 of my girls will get to go!!

We also had Light Up Okotoks on Friday night, our annual town holiday light up of the Christmas tree and Christmas kick off.  It was a bit chilly at -15 but not unbearable, I was thinking it would feel worse but we had lots of fun, goodies and even a photo with Santa!!

Hubby and I went to the dinner theatre Saturday night for my birthday dinner and then, just to add to the scheduled weekend, we took the girls to Dinsey on Ice yesterday!! So, overall, it’s been a jammed week…

So what’s on my to do list?? Well, cookie dough! LOL Sunday is my annual Christmas cookie exchange so need to get on that… I also have some samples to make for my last Christmas card class!  Throw in glueing on some Brownie badges and the list goes on!

Hope this finds you all well and getting into the holiday fun!  We also are pretty much all decorated, just have to finish up the tree this eve… yes, I got that done in the mix of all that 🙂

Happy Holidays!

Carols of Christmas Card Class #2 Card #3

Card #3 – Deck the Halls – The last of my 3 cards from this week’s class, sorry I’m a couple of days late on the post.

The simplest of all three cards at this class, I wanted to use the gorgeously fun Merry Music specialty designer series paper, so with a bit of pop of color, this creation was a go!

Watermarked3(2017-10-23-1911)

No instructions really needed for this one.  It’s as simple as a card stock base of real red in the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card size.  That is followed by a music piece from the specialty designer series paper at a 4 x 5 1/8 cut. I then added a small 4 x 1 inch strip of the old love with dots from the Merry Little Christmas designer series paper pack.

The deck the halls is stamped in old olive on whisper white and then cut using the square from the stitched shapes framelits dies.  I matted that on to a real read and adhered it to the card using Stampin dimensionals.

Carols of Christmas #Stampin Up Card Class #3 Card #2

Card # 2: Peace on Earth #2

Card credit to JENNIFER CERIZO of World of Jen Craft.

Watermarked1(2017-10-23-1910)

When I started my inspirational search with the Carols of Christmas stamp set on Pinterest, I found a beauty in a creation by World of Jen Craft.  Actually, her whole group of creations using the Carols of Christmas stamp set were mesmerizing!! I chose to dive into one quite like the one we have done in my class, seen above.  Jen’s had a few more details, including inserting more of the red start cut-outs into the spaces and more pearls.  In order to allow for time, so as my attendees wouldn’t be there all night, I opted for a bit less work, but of course, you can make this one as much or as little work as you like.

Paper Dimensions:

Whisper White CS – 4 1/2 x 11 (score at 5 1/2 for card base), 4 x 4, 2 7/8″ stitched circle

Garden Green CS – 4 x 4

Basic Black CS – 4 1/8 x 4 1/8, 3″ scalloped circle

Cherry Cobbler CS – Scrap for flower insets

Carols of Christmas #StampinUp Card Class #2 Card #1

Over the next 3 days I will post the three cards we created in my Christmas card class last night.  Two of which were inspired by other demonstrators around the world and the last one, very simplistic in nature, my me 🙂

Card #1 Peace on Earth

I have to give credit to Pinterest for this one, specifically to Sue Vine of Miss Pink Craft Spot.

I very rarely veer away from the traditional up and down card, so being inspired to create in a landscape format was fun!

Watermarked2(2017-10-23-1911).jpg

This card has wow and elegance, that’s why I chose it.  I also am a huge fan of the trees in this set of thinlits dies (Card Front Builder Thinlits Dies).  I like the doubled trees to give the shadowed look and have stepped out of my comfort zone to stamp right on the card; I know, wild, right?

Another special part of this card, which was the biggest reason I chose it, was the sparkle on the trees? It was created using some of Stampin Up’s new embossing paste topped with some of Stampin Up’s dazzling diamonds glitter!  How cool is that, right?  I rarely do much with glitter these days so this seemed like a great reason to dig it out and I wanted to show the versatility of the embossing paste too!

Click here for the instructions on how to make the card.  Enjoy!
