#OnStage2018 #StampinUp SWAPs!

For my swaps for this year’s OnStage 2018, I chose to use the Cross of Hope Framelits Dies and the Inspired Events stamp set.  This year is a big year for our family, Olivia and I have been attending the sacramental prep classes at our church all winter and she had her first reconciliation back in January.  This coming June she will have her much awaited first communion.   I knew I wanted to create a special card for this and have volunteered to create and donate these cards to our church for each of the kids in the sacramental class.  So after making fifty of these for my swaps, I will dive back in starting this week to create about another 40.

For OnStage, I did 25 in the blushing bride and 25 in the soft sky.  I will admit, I’m a bit sad to say goodby to soft sky as it is retiring, but there are so many amazing new and returning colors, I’m sure my sadness will be short-lived 🙂

I used very vanilla as a card base, then the coloured card stock, which I stamped the words and heat embossed in the gold powder.  That was followed by the Bundle of Love designer series paper (I am going to use the sale a ration Springtime Foils that I’ve collected going forward as I think it will accomplish the same effect).

The next layer is a scalloped cut from the Layering Circles framlits, in addition to the card stock cut in the smaller circle.  Lastly, the cross from the Cross of Hope framlits.  A bit of advice, for these detailed cuts, I do need to run the Big Shot back and forth about 4 times, then I pop out the framlit, and relocate it on the Big shot a couple of times. I take a look to ensure it is completely cut before taking it out. Might seem a bit tedious, but life is so much easier when you make sure it is all cut, as it easily pops right out.  I do lightly use the Big Shot brush and a paper piercer for smaller bits on occasion.  Once you get the hang of it, it’s amazing.  I say this so you don’t get frustrated by any of the finer detailed thinlits, it has taken me a while and patience to get here.  🙂
